Copy and Paste Feature Not Working in Windows 8

I too have this issue - I have recently had Windows 8.1 pro installed on my laptop and when I try to copy and paste words/web address etc using CTRL C & V function it does not work. Now I am not technically gifted to know what this means:

All you have to do is disable "Send to Bluetooth" Add on running under some of the Microsoft Office application. Most of the times you will find it under Add on in outlook.

Where do I look for this as I cant find any office application, the only one I use is Notepad and I cant find any Bluetooth setting on that.

Another thing I have just noticed is that if I press delete key then its adding another line as if I was pressing enter!

After a lot of research, I noticed that my paste issue only occurred when I had my browser running. It transpired, that is was when any browser (Firefox, Safari, IE, etc) was running.

Long story short, it was my Webroot security software blocking some of my programs which were attempting to read the Clipboard.

It makes sense, I have a browser open so I wouldn't want an untrusted application gaining access to my clipboard as it may contain a password. I just hadn't realized that it was doing this. When I disabled the Protect Clipboard Data option, everything worked again.

Webroot prompted me to disallow / allow a particular program to access the clipboard, with an option to remember my choice. So, I gave certain programs permission and then switched the protection option back on, as I think that it is a great feature.

I would guess that other security suites use this methodology so if you are experiencing paste issues, you may find it beneficial to check your security suites settings.

Thanks, dude, webroot is the reason, not windows 8. I am switching my anti-virus software, as this webroot give me too much trouble.

ok so how exactly do I disable this send to Bluetooth. a step by step guide would be great.

I don't have webroot unless its part of windows 8? I don't even know what security I have as I used to have windows defender.

It didn't work for me either after I thought it might have. Best work around for me is to not alt tab after I copy. Instead I manually click the window I want to copy to from the task bar.

New surface pro 8 has this problem too. For such a basic function to not work I think Microsoft needs to highlight or allow opt in to these security measures causing issues. It is not reasonable to have to search the web an try numerous convoluted solutions to what has always been the most basic of operations.
