Copy and Paste Feature Not Working in Windows 8

I am having the same issues as well... :(

After weeks of frustrations I found an answer.

There's a program/process called rdpclip.exe  You will find it in your Windows/system32 subdirectory.  If you run that suddenly the copy and paste function works again.  The method described in the old forum post to add it as an autostart process at boot didn't work I just copied it to my startup folder. Now it starts at boot and now all the copy and paste methods work.

Now I am facing removing all of my apps to see it that might fix it.

Then why not start with ones which might affect it?   E.g. Outlook has been mentioned, which would imply Office which would imply its ClipBoard utility.

In XP we used to have a ClipBoard diagnostic called ClipBook.   E.g. you could save all of the captured formats to a .clp file and then browse it.   Now, I don't know what there is to replace it.  Perhaps some obscure trace mode in the Event log?  Another possibility would be using the PSCX cmdlets related to ClipBoard with a -Debug switch enabled but FWIW I just tried that and guess it only shows you something when it fails?   Anyway no obvious output from that.   Also tried running ProcMon to try to capture any implementation details from it but I suspect it is .NET so ProcMon seems a less effective tool in that environment.

Otherwise, I think that PSCX is open source, so perhaps you could use it to help write your own diagnostic and find out what is going on with your ClipBoard?   <eg>

Well at least I'm not crazy. I was purring along fine with my Win 8 Laptop then suddenly about two weeks ago cut and paste became an adventure. The keyboard shortcuts work only now and then and often fail to post even in Microsoft programs. Likewise using the right click menu works about 20% of the time making any writing problematic at best and hopeless as worst. I did the SFC/Scannow thing a couple of times without success. The keyboard is working perfectly. My machine is absolutely virus and malware free. This is clearly a Windows 8 issue. What abou **** Microsoft, are you fixing this or should we wait for Windows 9? PS I just tried to copy this using control c and the right click menu. I might as well have tried giving it a verbal command to paint my house, the result would have been the same. Nothing happens

Seems to me like this "design feature" worked wrong from the day I got my Windows 8 computer. It is a bug, not a virus.

I tried Method 1 and it did not work. Now I am facing removing all of my apps to see it that might fix it. I had this issue since day one. Is there a plan in place fix this problem? When I was a software engineer for Boeing (working in testing) I would have opened a ticket and this and fixed it. Come on folks we all know someone dropped the ball. Your losing customers every day over this issue. I hate that copy and paste do not work in Windows 8. Let's get your head out of the sand over there at Microsoft before people start switching to Ubuntu.

Problem happens in every program I own, it is across the board, and on websites, using Ctr-c, Ctr-x, Ctr-v, right click copy, right click paste, right click cut, file cut, file copy, file paste. I just don't think this is a me issue.
