I tried both remedies & still refuses to copy n paste
Copy and Paste Feature Not Working in Windows 8
Hi,
This is probably the wrong forum to post this question in. But I am running a Windows 8 Pro 64bit machine, and I am experiencing problems with the Copy, Cut and Paste feature in windows explorer, where I try to copy a directory or file from one location to another but it does not work. I do have permission rights. Is this a bug in the operating system?

2015-05-07T20:43:26+00:00 When reading email thru gmail on windows 8 I try to copy paste a site given. When right clk and copy I have to go to browser to paste. When doing so it loses the copy so am unable to paste. Did I not stress enough how I hate Windows 8. Can't find too much I like about it!

2015-05-07T17:33:00+00:00 Hi Soumya
The problem with the issue is two-fold. 1) it is unstable, and appear from time to time, i.e. not reproducible at _any_ moment. And usually when it happens - it is bad timing to write emails to support or post questions. And no need to say - it is very frustrating. 2) the issue itself: as MANY other people complained - copy/paste does not work occasionally between different applications.
And in my case - I'm using VERY simple paths: copy web-site address from internet explorer into notepad. Or copy plan ascii text (no special chars) from notepad into MS Word, etc. No special formatting involved. Also, at these bad moments - copy/paste is not totally dead. it still works inside notepad, or inside Word. But when I go to diff appl. it looks like that appl. has its own copy/paste buffer, and knows nothing about what I just did try to copy text in other appl.
PS. runnig sfc /scannow does not help. Total reboot - yes, but do total reboot just because copy/paste failed is wrong.
