Hi,
This is probably the wrong forum to post this question in. But I am running a Windows 8 Pro 64bit machine, and I am experiencing problems with the Copy, Cut and Paste feature in windows explorer, where I try to copy a directory or file from one location to another but it does not work. I do have permission rights. Is this a bug in the operating system?

WEBROOT was the root of the problem for me.
Right-click tray icon --> View Status --> [Gear icon] by Identity Protection --> Application Protection
The application I wanted to paste into was listed as Deny. I switched it to Allow and it works fine now.
[Kinda mad that Webroot just takes over, classifies a normal app as a problem (Microsoft Visual Studio in my case), and doesn't tell you that it's messing with copy/paste. But at least I know how to deal with it now. Also had this problem with MySQL Workbench.]

did a bit of searching and I don't have webroot installed so it cant be this. I have windows defender installed on my pc.
Thanks for the help so far i have tried method one and it said it fixed something but now when i go to copy/cut and paste it says i don't have access to the clipboard or it just wont work. eg i would click copy then go to paste and nothing would happen or i click cut and when i go to paste the button is grey and i cant click it? also sometimes it glitches and some how if i copy two things or cut two things (don't know the exact circumstances) it pastes the first thing i copied but i lose the second thing i copied? Anyway i need a answer asap because i have school work to do and it slows down the progress not being able to copy and paste.

I have the same issue. Out of curiosity I tried omitting the https:// prefix from the URL. It worked. I have no idea why but it does.
