Can we disable the charms bar in Windows 8?

It is unfortunate that some people think they need to go on the defensive in reaction to what I wrote.

I chose my words very carefully & still, some of you took what was said in not @ all the right light.  Nor do I appreciate people putting words in my mouth which, I never said or even implied.  I did not "talk down" to anyone.  I did not call anyone names.  I did not call anyone "stupid" or even hint @ anything mean, nasty or rude.  I wrote a very gentlemanly essay.  Calling me "arrogant" was out of line & the complete opposite of who I am, as a person.

One could read my Profile.  I am not a Microsoft employee.  Yes, I Beta Tested Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 for Microsoft and expect to do the same w/ Windows 9.  I had to apply, initially, go through an acceptance process; then I was invited back to Beta Test 7 & 8.  I am a Microsoft Partner & my company is a Microsoft Partner Company.  However, I am as fast as anyone to speak pro or con for something, be it Microsoft or not.

I own an IT Consulting & Support company.  Said company offers sales of software & hardware, service, installs, teaching & advice on anything computer related and not just Microsoft products, not @ all... just whatever the customer wants, needs or best suits them.

I have written in several Tech Forums for many years.  I was asked to add contributing to this Forum to those that, already, have my attention & time.  I just like trying to be helpful, fi & when it is possible.

A lot of thought & effort went into what I wrote.  Sorry the good reasons & sound motivation for doing so didn't quite come across for some.  For anyone not wanting to see any value in what was said, you are, certainly, free to make that choice But, I was not abusive so, please, let's be cordial & not shoot the messenger.  Most of what was said was observation or statement of fact and expressed w/out any obligation to support the comments made.

There was, definitely nothing for anyone to take personally.  As for 3rd Party Add-ons, didn't say one shouldn't just that they are not necessary which, they aren't.  As for the 'tips' I offered, everyone who has, actually, tried them or used them, like them.

My clients Windows 8s, my Win8, we like it, has been flawless, easy to adapt to it, easy & enjoyable to use... but, hey, that's just us.  As I said, from talking w/ people & writing in a few Tech Forums, people love it or not so much.  Although, saying something is bad doesn't make it bad.  And people who don't know any differently are sometimes prone to accept what others say.  Only things is, much of a positive nature is, also, said.  Especially, when one has had nothing but, a good experience.  I discovered it from the inside out & garnered a good bit of respect for Windows 8.

I think initially I didn't realize the Charms Bar problem was related to laptop touchpads.  I've always felt klutzy w/ those things so, have always used a mouse.  On my PC, after I set the Charms Bar, it never pops out accidentally... did in the early days before I knew the way to stop it.  Sorry if I & many people I know don't jump @ finding fault w/ things.  Maybe, some of us are too accepting.  If I cannot change something I just have to learn it, as it is, for the sake of my customers & others I may have an opportunity to assist and for myself.

We are all using the same good OS.  Just interesting, that in spite of that, some express enthusiasm towards it whilst, others bash it; a true dichotomy.  I, also, have seen bashing in Forums but, that is not the case when talking w/ people in person; never been able to explain that phenomenon.

I'm sure we'll go through all this, again, when Win9 is released.
