Most people don't get it. Microsoft has made a OS that is designed for a tablet and most products out there are laptops!
Win 8 is not made for tablets. It a sort of all-rounder OS. But it works best on convertibles.
It works on laptops too, but thats like driving a sports car in a gravel road.
In the end you as the customer decides in which direction the market will go. If you will keep buying laptops instead of convertible, then Win 8 will IMHO sooner or later get divided in multiple OSes.
Convertibles are the future. Surface Pro is somewhat a second try of MS after they messed it up in 2001.
People just can't imagine whats better or possible with a convertible, thats the problem.
The concept of a convertible is a lot better than a laptop and a convertible is more useful.
>>> Microsoft has pulled outlook 2010 from the market
You can still buy it. I have Outlook 2010. But I agree the new Office Siut is badly designed, but that has nothing to do with Win 8. Win 8 Team is not the same as the Office Team. And both teams are not the biggest friends. I really hoped that since they
kicked Sinofsky teamplay would be a lot better in Microsoft.
>>> Neither the OS nor the 2013 products excite me, they are against long standing principles of fun computers.
I dont know what your problem... I'm having fun using my Surface Pro :) Maybe you are just using the wrong hardware for the right OS :P
>>> if you are in a video, you have to hit the eight key to get out of it, what happened to esc ??
Concept of the OS. Simple... Hit the backspace... If you are using the mouse, press the back arrow. the back arrow is equivalent to the backspace. You are not exiting a video, you are going back to the last page. But well... I dont see any design breaks
if MS implements the Esc key as the "Video end" key.
>>> Awful designs that don't allow me to choose.
You are allowed to choose... But not the stuff you want :) But luckily for me, its the stuff I want.
