DPC Watchdog Violation Windows 8 [SOLVED]

Hello!

Time to time I get the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. Moustly when i play games. I use laptop Asus n56vz and SSD OCZ Vector 512 GB . I've tried updating all drivers, BIOS, and SSD Firmware, but i am still getting the error.  I used NOD32 Antivirus i unistalled it but still have this error.

I think the issue can be counted as solved now. No more BSODs after installing NVIDIA driver from laptop vendor ASUS.

    Hi GabeBourke,

    Windows Defender is NOT a firewall. That's a separate application in program called Windows Firewall.

    Windows Defender is only an anti-virus and anti-spyware, but it does NOT protect from all malware as other more complte antivirus suites do (such as Avast, Avira or McAfee, to name a few).

    Definitely not the answer for me.

    I am totally up-to-date with Nvidia, I do not have an asus laptop and I was not playing games...

    But I am having constant problems with Mozilla Firefox, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was something not going right there.

    Frankly, Windows 8 is software manure and a BIG step back from Windows 7. Every day something is incompatible with something else.

    Microsoft should be shamefully embarrassed to have released something with so many glitches.

    Again, Win8 is a slimmed down version of Win7 as many processes now operate in the cloud instead of in the processor's cache. This is a good development as it mean the processors have much more resources freed up when compared to Win 7. They run much more efficiently and have longer life spans as a result. Gone are the days when the fan in the laptop would blow at max in order to keep the processor cooled down a bit. When people complain about Win8 it's mainly because they don't want to adapt to change. In this case, change for the better in many respects.

    Same thing happened to me its ridiculous I pay money an now my laptop is useless , windows never came with anti virus so that's something they fell to mention and now I am paying far too much just to get it running right  or is  there is such a thing  I switched to a Mac , just wanted to say my experience with a windows 8.1

    Has nothing to do with the anti-virus. There's a residential anti-virus built in to Win 8.1 (Windows Defender - anti-virus, anti-malware, and firewall) which in my opinion is better than most 3rd party anti-viruses, as it doesn't interfere all the time with apps or the internet. I have win 8.1 running on all my machines and no issues at all. Due to a slimmed down kernel (many apps and processes relegated to the cloud), it runs much more efficiently than the much heavier Win7. You might try uninstalling all the "bloatware" (software you don't need) that came with your laptop from the factory...
