lighting bolt and gear icon

My Nokia Lumia 920 shows the lightning bolt and gear icon. does not start and is frozen on that icon.

So lets try this and see if it helps.

Hard Reset using buttons:

Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

My issue and a big one is for a while battery was **** took 8hrs or more for a full charge.. dying within 2.. Had 50gb or more of photos and date. but was unable to transfer needed windows 8 didtn have it nor the room to ack up. should have got some sdcards n asked in store.. but it came on died within 30 seconds of coming on did twice then was a blue screen when I left it over night.. Been told its software issue but unlikely I can get it working without losing all my photos and they are worth more to be than the poxy phone.. is there anyway???.. I haven't backedup elsewhere

I know have an Sony Xperia Z5 which does not have the problems.
