lighting bolt and gear icon

My Nokia Lumia 920 shows the lightning bolt and gear icon. does not start and is frozen on that icon.

So lets try this and see if it helps.

Hard Reset using buttons:

Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

    My phone keeps going to nokia screen then to a blue screen...sometimes a boot up screen happens on the phone and says i need to plug in a disc to reformat....I know this is very very bad :( and i just turned in a resume for a new job. HELP! :'(

    Thank you. I have been struggling with this issue for nearly 24 hours now. I just knew there had to be a resolution other than sending the phone away for 2 weeks... a definite phone saver! (I hit that "Found this Helpful" button!
