lighting bolt and gear icon

My Nokia Lumia 920 shows the lightning bolt and gear icon. does not start and is frozen on that icon.

So lets try this and see if it helps.

Hard Reset using buttons:

Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

    One problem with this: my Power button does not work. The inner stem--the bit that the power button on the outer shell of the phone connects with--broke off, for some reason. What other options are there? Also, how do I fix the Power button?

    there is a place called repairsuniverse.com that sells parts for the Lumia 920. Replacing it is pretty simple. It is a strip with all 4 pressure buttons on it. It is just a matter of opening the phone , peeling the old one off and pressing the new one on.there is one quick connect that connects it to the motherboard. They have a breakdown video on the site that shows you how to do it . You will just need a torx t4 and a plastic scraping tool to do it.
