lighting bolt and gear icon

My Nokia Lumia 920 shows the lightning bolt and gear icon. does not start and is frozen on that icon.

So lets try this and see if it helps.

Hard Reset using buttons:

Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

Had the same problem for literally days of spinning gears and wouldn't hold a charge after I reset to factory defaults. I tried the crazy combo that Nokia suggests (reminds me of the old school cheat codes) and I could never get it to work. But the first time I tried that...worked like a charm! Thank you sir, you have saved me hundreds of dollars!

All nonsense...

the gear and bolt appears when you start the lumia with the VOLUME UP pressed.

Just press and hold VOLUME DOWN and POWER and the phone will restart.

Simple as drinking a glass of water and the camera button has nothing to do here.
