Hard Reset using buttons:
Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

2014-04-14T01:38:25+00:00 I had the same problem showing lightning and gear sign. I did a hard reset and it worked but when I turn the phone back off and on it did th same thing. I replaced the power, camera flex cable and now everything is working fine no more lightning and gear sign.
