So lets try this and see if it helps.
Hard Reset using buttons:
Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

2017-12-28T04:07:58+00:00 I fixed it by using a small screwdriver, and clicking he reset button at the bottom of the headphone jack port... That fixed it.
Ultimately, though... I ended up going to an Android. Sad that Microsoft turned its back on WindowsPhone... it had so much potential!

2017-07-09T19:00:34+00:00 HAHA! I just tried again and it worked. After I released the power button, I just did a 1-2-3 count and let go. I did have cogs yet again, but it was for about 1-2 minutes. Then the phone shut down on its own and finally came up on the "welcome to windows" screen. SUCCESS!!! Thanks man, and many thanks to JACK COOK! GET 'EM!
