lighting bolt and gear icon

My Nokia Lumia 920 shows the lightning bolt and gear icon. does not start and is frozen on that icon.

So lets try this and see if it helps.

Hard Reset using buttons:

Press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power until the phone vibrates. Then release the Power key and keep pressing the Camera + Volume Down for a few seconds.

A HAD SAME PROBLEM TOOK OUT MEMORY CARD ATTACHED TO LAPTOP AND PRESSED VOLUME <DOWN> AND POWER BUTTON AND IT CAME ON

i tried this but i unable to find the solution

when i tried this my phone is keep on restarting but no progress towards reset

I tried almost every possible combination that are provided by u n many more but its not working for m

i dont even getting exclamation mark on my phone screen.

all this happend when i was tried to upgrade mu phone to wondows10 preview from 8.1

i have nokia lumia 520

plz help m out

One key point is buried in one of the answers: TAKE OUT THE MEMORY CARD before doing any resets/upgrades.

thanks man it worked

however my volume up key is stucked m using lumia 620 any trick to solve that

Glad that helped.

Not sure why the volume rocker is stuck. I might try blowing it with air just in case it is something like dust or link that inadvertently got in there and is causing the issue.
