Hi
I did exactly what you said but when I release the power button a white screen with bar-code signs comes on and at the bottom of the screen it says : holding camera key to shut down device
it just freezes here and does nothing more
plz help it's driving me crazy
Ok i couldn't work it out. The only way i could get it off the cog and lightning bolt screen was to hard reset holding the buttons combo. But when it would boot up it would be as if I was holding the up vol button down. And if i turned the phone off it would go back to cog screen when turning on because this is what the phone i think is designed to do if the up volume is held down upon boot up. It also made it impossible to use the back arrow to get out of apps because of the phone tripping out about the up volume always on. I got the shits in the end and took my phone apart. Cut the up volume button off the ribbon flex cable
now the phone is usable. I just use an onscreen controls app to turn my volume up. I ordered a new flex cable from ebay to try out when it arrives. Im convinced this should work and i just had a dodgy up button.
