windows phone 8 failed update, sad face appears. How to fix it?

I wanted to update my wp8, but it failed, a sad face appeared. I tried to restart, but the sad face appears every time. What can I do????

Try this :D

Turn off the phone, Once the phone is off, Hold the Volume down key then plug the charger (charger should be connected to the power source ",) Once you see the excalmation ( ! ), remove your finger from the button.

Then press the following keys in, Volume Up, Volume Down, Power Key and Volume down. The phone will turn on automatically, this may take several minutes and it will show two gears that are spinning just wait for it to finish.

One more thing all the files on the phone will be deleted but if you have a microsoft account on the phone, check people.live.com to check the contact lists that you have and skydrive for the pictures, that's if you have a microsoft account on the phone.

    but I cant access the menu....when i restart my phone the logo comes in, then it seems like it starts to update, but immediately the sad face appears, and stays there until my phone discharges...until the sad face is there I can do nothing just to restart my phone, but when i do this, everything starts all over again....tomorrow I'm going to a center, but I don't think they will know what to do.... if you have any other suggestion, please write. Thanks a lot.

    A sad face appeared on my mobile this morning (W8 update failed). I tried to solve the problem with no success. I have a Nokia Lumia 820

    When I hold the volume down key then plug the charger (connected to the power source,) > I don't see the excalmation ( ! ), I see "Nokia" on the screen

    Then when I press the following keys in : Volume Up, Volume Down, Power Key and Volume down. The phone turns on , shows two gears that are spinning and few seconds after the sad face appears again ...

    Is there another way to solve that problem?

    The phone should be switched off before you tdo the ff:

     hold the volume down key and plug in the charger.

    then if your succesful on doing so, you should see an exclamation mark before you press the ff: keys

    Volume Up

    Volume Down

    Power Key

    Volume Down

    in case it still doesn't work, send the phone for repair.
