Service Pack 2 for Office 2010 update fail - Error 8024002D

Hello,

I can't install this update, apparently because it is looking for something called "SingleImageWW.msi" and not finding it.

Manually download and install the SP2 :-

http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=39667 (32 bit)

http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=39647 (64 bit)

If unsure of whether or not you're running 32 bit or 64 bit, refer to this thread:

If you still have trouble, try updating in a clean boot state:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-au (don't forget to return to normal boot when finished).

Office updates can fail if the update files are looking for the original installation files.

Sometimes downloading the full file remedies that problem or putting the installation media in the installation drive can also assist.

If still failing, perhaps you'll need to perform a repair install.

    Me too!! I have the same SingleImageWW.msi problem with MS Office Home and Business. I have tried putting the install DVD in and that doesn't help. I have to stop the install otherwise it continues to search. This is my first problem with 2010 Office.

    51f - The MSOCache folder has been deleted (holds the Local Installation Source (LIS) for the Office programs which is used to repair, reinstall, or update Office programs.)

    In other words, you need to provide the original source to continue with the update or in the alternative, do a repair Office 2010 with the original installation media.

    If a repair install doesn't work, you'll have to reinstall Office 2010.

    I located the file SingleImageWW.msi on the original Office 2010 Installation disc, loaded it in what I believe to be the correct location:-

    C:\MSOCache\All Users{90140000-003D-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}-C

    and tried again.

    The installer doesn't display the earlier message that the file SingleImageWW.msi  cannot be located but the installation fails with the message:

    Have run repair without success.

    Contact the manufacturer of your PC regarding how to repair Office 2010 so that you can update it.
