I am having the same problem with my surface pro. It actually started after I installed office pack. I tried all the remedies suggested to no avail. incredibly frustrating

This error code suddenly appears in WIndows 8 Store when trying to install or update apps.... Solutions to this have not yet been found.
There are many references to some date and time issues but they are correct on my Computer.
I did use the troubleshouter for Windows update which states that something has been corrected.
There are errors in my Event logs...
ID 36888 System Log; A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 10. The Windows SChannel error state is 10.

2013-08-30T19:04:05+00:00 I have found a fix....finally. But NOT a solution. I looked at all the updates I installed and re-set the laptop to a time previous to the latest updates and the problem went away. I was so frustrated with this event, and nothing I tried would correct the issue, I just simply picked a time at random to when I thought it started happening. I did not write down the updates, so even though I can update the apps again, I am sure a future update will cause the issue.
I suggest if there is someone out there who can systematically uninstall an update or go back in time one update at time, and let all of us know which particular update caused the issue, we will all benefit. The fact that some peopel are saying the issue went away suggests another update corrected the issue.

2013-08-30T17:51:11+00:00 Same problem over the last few days with installing updates to travel app now no apps will install. Same error. Cannot find a fix. This in not on a corporate network. Tried all the suggestions listed.
