No! You should dump it immediately. Don't run it and don't let it do
anything.

Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
registry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone and
don't use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
what vendors of registry cleaning software try to convince you of,
having unused registry entries doesn't really hurt you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit
it may have.

Let me point out that neither I nor anyone else who warns against the
use of registry cleaners has ever said that they always cause
problems. If they always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

Rather, the problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the substantial risk of having a problem. And since there is no
benefit to using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
bargain.

As with all these 'SpeedUpMyPc' type of programs as safe as holding a rattle snake by its tail

    My father-in-law just got the hard pressure sales tactics from this company.

    His PC was continually saying there were issues that need to be resolved (advert URL added to IE homepage list). So got talking to the guy advertised who would fix it. "Yes we can fix this for you, for a few quid", which got added to, plus vat, totalling £30 for 6 months with an auto-renewal. (Norton 360 is only £50 for 1 year of full protection). Which once he paid, the salesman went into overdrive with all the other things that needed fixing... End result was "for just an extra £500, plus a monthly subscription we can remove 'footprints' from your computer". So basically a big scam to fleece a pensioner out if his life savings.

    Luckily, this was far too high a price for him, so he stopped it there. Response was "oh, your a pensioner I'll  give you a bit of discount". I was not very happy at this point in the story.

    I looked at his PC and found malware and antivirus software was now uninstalled. While I remove their software and re-installed the ones I had installed, I heard more...

    "Oh, I mentioned Scottie Dog (WinPatrol from BillP Studios) and he said that was one of ours", I'm getting very angry at this point. "Yes, he was moving the cursor around the screen at one point". I am now almost blowing a fuse!!!

    Needless to say, I'm hear reporting my experience with them and hope others don't suffer the same misfortune. Software removed (glorified random number generator) and subscription cancelled. Just awaiting a response for a full refund, as it within the 7 days allowed under the Distant Sellers Regulations, dispute also raised with PayPal.

    Guess I got lucky. As soon as heard about this I Unstalled Regcure, though it appears that I've lost the money I paid them. Oh well, I'm moving on now, chalking up my naivete to experience. Sammy said it right-- research, research,... before we buy. That's the real thread.

    Calvin - My experience with Regcure was to be ignored.  I sent emails that were never responded to.  I tried to get on their so-called "On Line Troubleshooter" and waited for 20 minutes with no response.  They screwed up my computer so bad that it took me 2 days to get it back fully functional.  I emailed them for help, and never received a response.  My opinion, based on a similar effort, is - it will be a waste of time.
