No! You should dump it immediately. Don't run it and don't let it do
anything.

Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
registry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone and
don't use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
what vendors of registry cleaning software try to convince you of,
having unused registry entries doesn't really hurt you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit
it may have.

Let me point out that neither I nor anyone else who warns against the
use of registry cleaners has ever said that they always cause
problems. If they always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

Rather, the problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the substantial risk of having a problem. And since there is no
benefit to using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
bargain.

    I bought the product on line 2 days ago. Since I use it, my computer has problem cosequently. Only 2 days I have enogh problem caused, today I even could not get on line. I have to restore system into two day's ago.

    I will apply for money back, we'll see if the company does what he promissed. As so far, I do not give any credit to the company. Is it a real Microsoft Partner or a Lier?

    And, yet, the registry cleaner scams continue to proliferate.  I purchased RegCure Pro & it was utter garbage. I demanded an immediate refund & got it within 3 days.  Then, I check various computer tech sites like CNET & PCMag which gives a glowing review of the product. I purchased it.

    I was chagrined to find, after I purchased ReImage Plus, it took me to an activation page that looked just like that of RegCure Pro.  The number I had to call to activate it was the same call center in Boca Raton, FL & I was asked the same scripted questions by the ReImage rep that I was for RegCure Pro.  I asked the rep if ReImage Plus was software sold by the same company as RegCure Pro & he flatly denied it, claiming he never heard of RegCure Pro.

    I immediately deleted the software & demanded an immediate refund.  What I got back was multiple emails saying I had to allow their techs to access my computer & try to fix it (after I paid $350) before they could process the refund.  This is contrary to how ReImage advertises it's product.. "Full Money Back Guarantee.. If you are not happy with the repair we'll give you your money back. No questions asked."

    I have demanded an immediate refund via emails & telephone calls (which is an answering machine). All of my inquiries have been ignored.  I also learned from the Better Business Bureau of South Florida that ReImage Plus & RegCure Pro are sold through a fictitious company name, Dowloadsoftware.com & it has been the subject of multiple complaints of fraudulent  behavior.

    I have to agree with Ken, those "thousands" of keys will have had little or no impact on performance, how Windows parses the registry changed with Vista and has continued to improve.

    It may have also cleaned a few of the preloading applications but this can easily be achieved with msconfig or Autoruns.

    When presented with a list "thousands" long the chances of finding one that should actually remain is fairly remote no matter how careful you are and the potential for a false positive is just too great to allow an automated program unfettered access to the registry.

    All too often when we see intransigent obscure issues on here that when a history is provided a cleaner is involved at some point.
