No! You should dump it immediately. Don't run it and don't let it do
anything.

Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
registry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone and
don't use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
what vendors of registry cleaning software try to convince you of,
having unused registry entries doesn't really hurt you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit
it may have.

Let me point out that neither I nor anyone else who warns against the
use of registry cleaners has ever said that they always cause
problems. If they always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

Rather, the problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the substantial risk of having a problem. And since there is no
benefit to using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
bargain.

    Calvin - My experience with Regcure was to be ignored.  I sent emails that were never responded to.  I tried to get on their so-called "On Line Troubleshooter" and waited for 20 minutes with no response.  They screwed up my computer so bad that it took me 2 days to get it back fully functional.  I emailed them for help, and never received a response.  My opinion, based on a similar effort, is - it will be a waste of time.

    You should have doubts. Cleaning the registry was only important for Windows 9x, where if the registry got too large, the machine would crash. It was a limitation of running a Windows shell over a DOS base, and did not apply to Windows NT and its offspring, these being Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7 and 8.

    Regclean 4.0 was released by Microsoft, and all it did was reduce the size of the registry to safe limits by removing only the absolute safest of entries. It's use was never intended to make the computer run faster, and if my memory serves me correctly, no speed claim was ever made about it. 

    There is just one registry cleaner which allows the user to target a specific issue within the registry, but it also has a function to do a full clean of useless stuff, and I am not about to go public with it and have people say that 'an MVP said that registry cleaners are ok'.

    You can contact me directly if you like, but I will say this publicly.

    Note also that I NEVER recommend the installation and use of CCleaner for exactly the same reason.

    It is NOT safe. I have serviced multiple computers severely damaged by it.

    BTW, Malwarebytes is a malware tool.  These are two completely different and unrelated categories of software.
