No! You should dump it immediately. Don't run it and don't let it do
anything.

Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
registry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone and
don't use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
what vendors of registry cleaning software try to convince you of,
having unused registry entries doesn't really hurt you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit
it may have.

Let me point out that neither I nor anyone else who warns against the
use of registry cleaners has ever said that they always cause
problems. If they always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

Rather, the problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the substantial risk of having a problem. And since there is no
benefit to using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
bargain.

I downloaded and installed RegCure Pro to my Toshiba laptop running Windows 7. The program immediately destroyed my ability to use my printer - a Brother MFC 6490CW. To be able to get my printer working again, it took me two days of fighting the mess, deleting RegCure Pro, and re-installing my computer's software. Also, 6 months later, I was automatically billed another $15!!!! Adding injury to insult!!! Somewhere in the fine print, it must have said it was an automatic renewal every 6 months - I was not aware of that when I bought the program. This is a major rip off. It did nothing to speed up my machine and destroyed some of my communications programming. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!

I don't advocate the use of CCleaner either, not any part of it. Windows tools will do the job.

I have had to start over with client machines many times, sometimes monthly before I got them to stop using CCleaner and worse..

Hi Ken,

even if your reply makes sense to me, I'm however wondering something :

if Microsoft do not recommend such tools and recommend to NEVER EVER touch the registry in any manner... Then how to explain that this RegCure Pro software shows a "beautiful" logo on their webpage <Link Removed> and on their boxes which is : "Microsoft Partner Gold Application Development" ?

I mean how Microsoft could allow the use of this "sponsor" to a software we (users) should strongly avoid (still according MS) ?
