Hello Maheeb,

Welcome to Microsoft community where you will get best solutions for Windows related issues.

I understand that you have hard time opening Microsoft Store in Windows 8. I would definitely help you in fixing this issue.

Let us start with couple of questions:

1.       Which account are you using to login, Microsoft or Local account?

2.       Do you have proxy server enabled on Windows 8?

3.       Is the issue specific with Windows Store or with other applications as well?

Perform the following troubleshooting methods to fix the Store issues:

Method 1:

I would suggest you to run Windows 8 App troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

You can download the app troubleshooter form this link “Windows 8 App Troubleshooter”.

Method 2:

If you are using Microsoft account, then I would suggest you to switch to Local account and then check how the apps work.

Follow these steps to switch from Microsoft to Local account.

a.       Press “Windows key +W”.

b.      Type “users” without quotes in the search box.

c.       Then select “Users” from the left panel.

d.      You will get an option “Switch to a Local account” right below your user account name.

e.      Select “Switch to a local account” option.

f.        Enter the required details.

g.       Then login to the local account then check how the apps work.

If you are using Local account, then I would suggest you to switch to Microsoft account and then check how the apps work.

Follow these steps to switch from Local account to Microsoft account:

a.       Press “Windows key +W”.

b.      Type “users” without quotes in the search box.

c.       Then select “Users” from the left panel.

d.      Select “Switch to Microsoft account” right below your user account name.

e.      Enter the required details.

f.        Restart the computer and then try to login using new Microsoft account.

Method 3:

If that doesn’t work, then I would suggest you to create a new user account and then check how the apps work with new user account.

Follow these steps:

a.       Press “Windows Key + W”.

b.      Type Users in the search box and select “Users” option from the left panel.

c.       Select “Add Users” under “Other users” option.

d.      Add the user profile details.

e.      Then login to the new user account and then check if this fixes the issue.

I hope this helps you to fix the Store issue. If the issue persists or you have any other issues with Windows, please do post it in Microsoft Community. We would be happy to help you.

Try calling Microsoft or your Computer maker. Or, take the computer to a local small computer shop.

I am having tha same issue with the Windows Store not being able to load up. My Windows Store will open, but it will keep loading untill I choose to close it down. I know this because I had waited for two days once. I have been having this issue ever since I had downloaded a program called, CCleaner. I had never had this problem before on any other of my DC's/PC's, "Desk top Computers/Personal Computers." I had tried your way by going to my settings and changing or activating a password, but I never had one in the first place which is why I am still confused as to why I am having problems with my Windows Store. Oh, and lastly, I had uninstalled the CCleaner program and tried it that way and it didn't work. So for a year and 4 months later I still sit here with a PC that isn't updated and cant update because my PC is unable to completely open Windows Store! PLEASE HELP ME!!! ;-(

For me, I had to go into Account Settings and it wanted me to validate my MicrosoftId password again. Once I did that, the Store magically started working again.

The WSReset recommendation did not work for me either.  And I ended up refreshing Windows, which as we all know removes everything on your computer.  That was a costly error that did not work either.  Once I realized what refreshing does (and by then it was too late to back out), I went ahead and did it a second time (before I re-intalled all of my lost software and settings).  That didn't work either.
