Installed this today, it caused my Poppeeper to be flagged with a -1000 error. Rolled computer back and problem cured. Have hidden update until i know what to do.

YMMV but...

...Microsoft is aware of an issue some customers are experiencing when installing KB2670838 on certain laptop systems with hybrid graphics. We are looking into the situation and are considering blocking the update for systems that could be affected. Customers who are experiencing issues on systems that already have installed the update should consider uninstalling KB2670838.

In the near future (one assumes), Microsoft should begin offering home users (only!) no-charge support for IE10 install and uninstall issues. You also may be eligible for the support if an IE10-related issue causes your computer to crash or if IE10 does
 not let you browse all sites. For now, however, you're on your own so you're best bet is to hide IE10 (*and KB2670838 IMHO*) & stick with IE9 for the time being.

    I also have problems with this update.

    After installing KB2670838 update Aero stopped working. After rolling back, Aero works again.

    Same here...Aero broken after this update. Going to try rolling back too.

    EDIT: Uninstalling the update fixed the Aero problem (uninstalled, rather than system restore).

    I'm now hiding the update...will any future updates possibly have problems if I've hidden this one?

    No. You will need to watch out for the re-issue of KB2670838 so that it can be installed when the problem is fixed by Microsoft.

    We definitely had  problems with this update KB2670838  as well. A total of 15 computers running Win7 Enterprise were affected. After installing update, all computers lost internet connection and had yellow triangle with exclamation sign in the middle (unidentified network). System restore resolved the problem temporarily, because updates are pushed globally to these computers by network admins. As soon as reboot after system Restore, a critical update appeared, and after updating network was lost again. I stopped the windows update service (changed to manual), deleted the Download folder in %windir%\SoftwareDistribution. Restarted the machine, network is up running. I will wait until there is a solution to this problem and restart windows update!
