Installed this today, it caused my Poppeeper to be flagged with a -1000 error. Rolled computer back and problem cured. Have hidden update until i know what to do.

...Microsoft is aware of an issue some customers are experiencing when installing KB2670838 on certain laptop systems with hybrid graphics. We are looking into the situation and are considering blocking the update for systems that could be affected. Customers who are experiencing issues on systems that already have installed the update should consider uninstalling KB2670838.

In the near future (one assumes), Microsoft should begin offering home users (only!) no-charge support for IE10 install and uninstall issues. You also may be eligible for the support if an IE10-related issue causes your computer to crash or if IE10 does
 not let you browse all sites. For now, however, you're on your own so you're best bet is to hide IE10 (*and KB2670838 IMHO*) & stick with IE9 for the time being.

    Select Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features, View Installed Updates and advise the installation date. To remove an installed update see:

    I had a problem with this update as well. KB2670838 installed on 2/27/2013.

    The problem was that while all CPU/mem metrics indicated a very low load on the system (10-20% sustained in relation to available resources), all three of my primary web-browsers (Chrome, FireFox ESR 17.0.2, IE 9) became unusable. While websites would open, scrolling through the content or opening additional tabs took 30-40 seconds per operation. Some websites would not open, or form-fields within websites would no longer work. The browser processes were not stalled and appeared to be running fine as far as the system was concerned.

    The problem was mostly noticeable within browsers, but not limited to them. Moving application windows around the screen created a noticeable lag/delay/image artifacts.

    This is a Win7 x64 Enterprise box with AMD Radeon 54xx graphics card. Given everything pointed to video, updated to latest drivers from AMDs site, same problem. Rebooted just to be safe a few times, same problem. The system worked perfectly fine prior to the update applying.

    I uninstalled the update, reboot, and system is back to normal. Broswers, apps, all work without problems as before. It was definitely this update which caused the issue. First time I had to roll-back an update on my personal system.

    [PS. update removal was not clean. Using the uninstall feature on the update in "Programs and Features" caused the system to hang on the "Configuring Updates..Do not turn off.." screen. Waited 15 minutes,  no change. Finally  did have to manually power-cycle the box. All came up clean]

    Running WIndow 7. System auto updated KB2670838 and rebooted. I have a similar problem to these Posts but only Firefox and IE9 was affected. Failure to load without a crash on the IE9. On Firefox I was able to use only by entering SAFEMODE on Firefox itself,otherwise it would crash. A simple backout solved problem, then disabled the ..838 update nag. Come on MS, dont release this untested **** on ppl.
