Installed this today, it caused my Poppeeper to be flagged with a -1000 error. Rolled computer back and problem cured. Have hidden update until i know what to do.

YMMV but...

...Microsoft is aware of an issue some customers are experiencing when installing KB2670838 on certain laptop systems with hybrid graphics. We are looking into the situation and are considering blocking the update for systems that could be affected. Customers who are experiencing issues on systems that already have installed the update should consider uninstalling KB2670838.

In the near future (one assumes), Microsoft should begin offering home users (only!) no-charge support for IE10 install and uninstall issues. You also may be eligible for the support if an IE10-related issue causes your computer to crash or if IE10 does
 not let you browse all sites. For now, however, you're on your own so you're best bet is to hide IE10 (*and KB2670838 IMHO*) & stick with IE9 for the time being.

    When I open IE10 it doesn't always open full screen but opens to the "restored down" size (as if explorer had been closed down from that state). An odd time it might have been, but not as often as it is happening. I must try and make a note of any pattern to it and what was open before. 

    That's off-topic for this thread but I'll tell you how to fix it anyway:

    Close all but one (1) of the smaller IE10 windows. "Grab" the corners of the remaining window with your cursor and "stretch" it to the desired size but do NOT maximize it! Now close the resized window.

    The resized window MUST be the last window closed in order for its size to be remembered.

    I didn't make the distinction between the two at the time although you highlighted  View installed updates in bold textfor me ;-) but without the **"**not Update History" to follow it, well I just didn't make the connection.

    Although all is basically OK I have noticed one thing, and if it happened once or twice, or even three times I could say... it might be me... but its happening quite a lot.

    KB2670838...doesn't show in...update history. Its now showing only in installed updates under "programs and features"

    That's why I've asked everyone if KB2670838 was listed in View installed updates, not Update History.

    A bit more info... I have found KB2670838 tucked away from view :)

    When I first installed this update along with IE10 it showed in the normal installed update history. I can say that with certainty.

    Choosing NOT to install that update but accepting IE10 some days later has in fact installed KB2670838 but it doesn't show in the normal update history. Its now showing only in installed updates under "programs and features"
