lumia 720 screen freeze

It is happening when I am ending my call (often) . Some times this happens when I am in between a call and I am unable to end my call , And few times when I have to receive the call .

It also happens when phone is ideal and I try to unlock the screen .

I buyed 730 two days after buying I started using it and after 6 hrs of purchase it started hanging I am not able to make call n I don't receive any call cant use net ntg but the phone works I can use apps but cant connect to network after that I want to restart my mob pls say me how to rectify it

I bought my Nokia Lumia 720 sometime in August last year in India. It was working brilliantly in the first few days until the windows OS was updated. Not only did the image capture quality of the phone's camera degraded, but my phone's screen started freezing every 5 seconds! Everytime I did anything, whether playing "Wordament", or looking through the address book, or even unlocking the screen, my phone stopped responding. The only way to unfreeze the screen was to press the screen button on the side. 

To fix this problem, I tried reseting the phone and updating the software. I even went to the Nokia care center and they suggested me to replace the screen! I need a better workaround for this because I think this is a software glitch. I am really disappointed with the performance of this phone considering that I trusted Nokia over other phone companies.

If you have confirmed that they are updated, try recovering the software of your phone using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. I'm having Nokia Lumia for slightly over 1 year. Currently latest Cyan update 8.1 is installed on my phone.

Sometime back I started facing problem of screen freeze, mostly within a mail client while opening, reading or closing mail message.

I have done Vol-down with Lock buttong possibly more than 100 times in last 4 weeks.

I tried various things and did a phone reset using 'about'  in settings. But, problem continued even when I was setting up the phone after the reset!

So, clearly problem is not with OS or app installation. Then I removed my 16 gb microsd card. Problem still persisted. Then turned off 'glance' app. Then turned off 'Skype'. Nothing seems to work.

When screen freeze happens, if I wait patiently for say 3 to 5 minutes usually it starts working again. Of course, sometimes phone reboots or freezes with only recourse being Power+Vol-minus.Most of time when it feezes the message on top left corner is 'Loading message..' or 'Resuming' on centre of the screen or plain white screen with no text or image.

But, even after retbot problem continues. It seems that when freeze happens phone's memory reduces from 512 mb to say 1 mb. Phone becomes extremely slow, but most time it is able to come back to life gracefully.

But, this is very annoying because reading of mails has become a nightmare.

Any help would be appreciated.
