How to troubleshoot windows update error code 0x80070003 ran into a problem?

Click Start (Press “Windows Key + Q” to open Charms Bar.)

Type: cmd

Right click on cmd in start menu and select 'Run as Administrator'

Type: net stop wuauserv

Hit Enter

Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old

Hit Enter

Type: net start wuauserv

Hit Enter

Type: exit

Hit Enter

Attempt to download updates

How to troubleshoot windows update error code 0x80070003 ran into a problem?

Thank You so much worked on windows 10 also, I have been trying to get the latest build since yesterday, was just about to do a full reinstall and then update, you saved me tons of work!!

Ola tudo bem, esta parte do xp ja era, mandei passar novamente para o 7 vamos ver se vai rodar normal, estou tambem com um notebook intel 4 i3 6gb 750gb 8.1, nao da problema. mas de qualquer maneira agradeço. abraço
