Nurifa,

Click Start (Press “Windows Key + Q” to open Charms Bar.)

Type: cmd

Right click on cmd in start menu and select 'Run as Administrator'

Type: net stop wuauserv

Hit Enter

Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old

Hit Enter

Type: net start wuauserv

Hit Enter

Type: exit

Hit Enter

Attempt to download updates

    Many people have this problem. Our Windows 10 system has not updated since Nov 2016. After many days and dozens of hours we have given up on trying. Microsoft just keeps repeating with the same variations on fixes that doesn't work. None of this is new. Win10 is a worthless OS. We are using the Mac now and our Windows machine gathers dust.
