XBox Music Pass compatible MP3 players

I need a specific question answered.  I will ask it two ways:

1)  What are some examples of a XBox Music Pass compatible MP3 player (besides a computer, Xbox, tablet, or Windows phone)?  Remember, the Zune no longer exists.  I want to jog/exercise without wearing my phone in an armband on my bicep.

or

2)  If I subscribe to the Music Pass, can I use Windows Media Player to synchronize "subscribed/DRM'ed songs" to a MP3 player?  I understand the difference between "purchased" and "subscribed" and DRM and non-DRM.  I figure there's a time-limited license that could be uploaded to the MP3, or something.

Look, I don't want to jog with this big WP8 phone attached to my arm.  Nor do I want to put it in a fanny pack.  That's just gross.

I agree with you. I found your post looking for the same device to use with my XBox subscription for exercise. Microsoft left a void for customer to fill with other products that want one device or service for all uses. Microsoft has been making big strides but they seem to miss some obviously important services.

Apple nailed this with their iPod family, phones, etc. Now when I want music without jogging with my Lumia phone I'm screwed, I have to go to an Apple product. I want an entire ecosystem, not 2/3's of one.  I can't think of an Android solution either. There is no point in having an XBox subcription, which is not intuitive or user friendly at Microsoft thinks, and having to use iTunes for music to exercise.

Why on earth would Microsoft use the XBox brand for music when it is synonymous with their gaming console? Now it is XBox Music, XBox Video, XBox gaming, etc. It is like a whole new brand instead of Microsoft. If nothing else, just call it XBox, like Apple just refers to iTunes.

I'm going to cancel my XBox subscription now and buy an Apply Shuffle for my iTunes account which I never cancelled.

Again, I'm with Randy. Just like I can sync an iTunes library to an iPod Nano, what is needed on the MSFT side is a small device that can either:

    1. play DRM protected WMA files  (i think this is all that would be needed)
    2. or ideally, sync with an Xbox music pass library - like a small zune

    Cheers.

There are Xbox Music apps for iOS and Android too that will stream with Xbox Music Pass.

Windows Phone isn't the only device that works with the service.

I have an iPhone and have the XBox music app installed. All that does is change the "blob" on my arm at the gym from one manufacturer to another (WP8/iPhone). It's still a blob, it still costs more than an MP3, it still gets clanked on treadmills and weight machines, and on and on. I'm down to one remaining Zune Player, and that's it for XBox/Zune Music passes.

MSFT is doing a nice job re-making its product line for the times, but I don't think the company employs enough people who sweat in gyms. A Nano-type device would be nice.

Randy, I'm totally with you.  I just bought a stupid belt clip case for lumia. I really like xbox music pass but not having something i can workout with is frustrating. It's not fun to lift weights with a full size phone strapped to your arm. We're probably not the only ones with the gripe.

If you find a good solution, post it here and i'll do the same.
