Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

    after updating to 8.1, you should go to the website(s) for your hardware and see if there are any updated drivers and install them. Then you can fuss with cleartype and DPI.  Beyond that, it's up to MS and the change it made to font rendering, which for most folks shouldn't look any worse in 8.1 than in 8.

    I agree with Vincent. I had the same problem and solved it the same way. I installed the dedicated driver for my graphics card I had for Windows 7 and all works fine. No ugly text everywere: modern UI apps, IE11, Firefox nor Office 2013! :D

    I hope, it works too for the most of you... Good luck!

    please read the other people's threads before making such idiotic post.. Clearly, it has nothing to do with the clearType.

    Did you try the simple solution, Tzon and 260 others (at this time)?

    Try adjusting the ClearType settings.

    Go to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Adjust ClearType text.

    Then choose the best looking text samples.

    Jalen's reply is a very good example of a replay that is the opposite of helpful; it uselessly got in the way. The writer clearly hadn't read through the thread to see what had already been said about the problem and the reply was irrelevent--to put it simply, the writer simply did not know what he was talking about. Even if the intentions were good, it was still rather bad form on a forum.
