Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

I 've gathered links bellow that refer to the same problem to highlight its importance and display the number of users that are affected:

Let's try and get this topic out to the blogs and news sites that cover Windows.

We can start with submitting a news tip to newowin.net, here - http://www.neowin.net/contact/

Select news tips from the drop down and we can all use this -

This issue dates back to the Windows 8 beta and still has gone unfixed in the Windows 8.1 preview. It's the largest support topic of Microsofts forums and they won't acknowledge it. If you do some basic Google searches, you will see many complaints on the topic. It would greatly appreciated if you could help us with a story or some type of coverage on the topic to hopefully get a response from MS.  Thank You.

I have remedied a part of the problem - the 8.1 Preview apparently is not compatible with the AMD graphics card in my 4 week old HP desktop. So it disabled the card and substituted a Windows generic driver which doesn't work with an HDMI LED monitor. 10 days ago AMD released an 8.1 compliant driver, unfortunately with no push to customers. So you find it on your own. But it works, and returns the functionality of the HDMI monitor to its original state. However, this doesn't fix my second monitor, which is an older Dell analog LED display. Outlook 2013 runs on that screen and still looks pretty bad. It appears that desktop users are being marginalized and since that is how I earn a living, I am not happy about it.

Holy cow, you guys helped do it!

On the front page of neowin -

    http://www.neowin.net/news/users-keep-reporting-blurry-text-in-windows-8-and-81

"Neowin has emailed Microsoft to find out if the company will address the blurry font issue; this post will be updated if a response is received."

It's not done yet.  My Office 2013 looks like it was programmed by a 5  year old, hopefully we can get Microsoft to bring back ClearType FAST!

I was trying to get my company to get Office 2013, but from what I see of the font rendering, there is no way I can let them go through with it.

FIXED - My solution was to right click and go to the properties of individual affected apps and tick "disable scaling on higher resolution displays" or something similar. Hope this works for you guys as a temporary fix.
