Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

    Sorry, maybe something happened with your resolution.  Maybe you should make sure that is all the way up.  When I turned my resolution down to experiment, I had this same problem.

    Thank you for your concern. None of this is the problem. If you're interested, read the whole thread. The cause has been spotted, thousands are affected, only Microsoft can fix it with an update_

    You mean the color/gray-scale anti-aliasing?  I had already noticed that, but I only have this problem, thinking it over, in the modern OneNote at certain levels of zoom.  This sounds like a problem that may be fixed in Windows 8.1, like several other little/big things.  We can only hope!

    Yes! Well, lots of people are thinking it over... Actually, it is more notable in certain monitors. For example it is a lot more annoying on my desktop's screen (22 inch) than on my laptops' (15in).

    I also hope that Windows 8.1 will solve the problem, but Microsoft has not mentioned anything about it. There is not even an official reply on this post from a Microsoft employee.
