Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

    The solutions is quite simple: make cleartype as an option in Modern UI.

    My problem is definetly different then because adjusting any cleartype settings only makes my folder and file names harder to read, and doesnt help the worn-at look they have.

    I just installed Windows 8.1 Preview and the first thing I did was open Word 2013 and to my eyes and the text looks a little better than Windows 8. The text seems more crisp and easier to read. However, it is still not as good as Office 2010. I wonder what other people have to say about Windows 8.1.

    1920x1080 is a very high pixel density on a 9" screen, however is low pixel density on a 28" screen.

    Which is why I tell my hundreds of clients to avoid Windows 8, IE9 and higher, and Office 2012 at all costs.

    My resolution is 1920 x 1080.  Is that low ppi?

    The total number of pixels is not the pixel density. You must consider the area of the screen.

    1920x1080 is a very high pixel density on a 9" screen, however is low pixel density on a 28" screen.

    The issue mainly effects users who are using low ppi display. MS cancelled the Cleartype on Modern UI and IE 10 because it works only on one direction --- which is useless for tablets. When your PPI is high(most new tablets has high ppi), it doesn't matter. The text is still sharp and clear. But for minions of normal laptop users, the blur is unbearable, especially for east-asian language users.

    The solutions is quite simple: make cleartype as an option in Modern UI.

    And 2560x1440p is it also low ppi?
