Just a reminder this does not affect Microsoft applications only. Using Pale Moon x64 (Firefox-based browser) with an AMD 5670 card on Win 8 x64. When "use hardware acceleration when available" is enabled in the browser, it's unusable in most sites, and the text is a mess. The first image is obviously the "hardware-accelerated" disaster. 1680x1050 monitor, 125% DPI (problem remains on 100%).
Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)
Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.
I 've gathered links bellow that refer to the same problem to highlight its importance and display the number of users that are affected:

It's shows as "bumped" for me, in that section.
Why isn't this thread bumped to the top of the list when replies are made?
