Poor font rendering in Windows 8 (blurry text)

Apparently there is a huge problem with **** font rendering in Windows 8. Text appears very blurry. Programs affected by the new rendering are: Internet Explorer 10, the modern interface (start screen), Office 2013 and other 3rd party applications that rely on this rendering technology. There is no way to fix this problem, unless Microsoft recognizes it.

    Well, on reflection, thank you Microsoft! Chrome is so much better than IE10. It is really easy to correct the damage WIndows 8 does to the rendering (on the icon Properties, Compatibility select "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"). Then it is so well integrated into so many apps, themes etc. Well done Google. Love it!

    The people who use this forum are mostly IT professionals or long time expert Windows power users.

    For you to conclude your uninformed piece by implying that we don't know how to use ClearType tuner is the height of belligerence.   

    In fact, your response is truly appalling because it just continues the Microsoft corporate denial of the problem. 

    When are you going to stop being part of the problem, and start being part of the solution?

    At some point, the wily coyote might realise it is sitting at the wrong end of the branch it is sawing through.  Or will we see the familiar puff of dust at the bottom of the valley? Too big to fall? Meep meep?

    A few dozen or so years ago, a few visionaries siad everyone woudl have a computer. "What for? What'll they do with them.? "  "Well, recipes, and uh, er um. . . "

    Turns out most people only needed toys and that's what their buying. Some folks need machines to do work but most, just need the gadget with the bird games and email-- no disk, no print, no work, jsut chat and play. Used to be you had to have a pc to chat or play. Now you jsut need a phone.

    It's not that MS went with the wrong market, they just didn't get the text rendering correct for the small and shrinking PC market.
