I just tried Windows 8.1 and the stupid anti-aliasing is now affecting parts of the desktop which I hadn't noticed before, if I'm not mistaken about it. It's still OK inside programs except titles of windows.
I'm going to restore my system to Windows 8 with a Ghost backup and hope it'll be OK.
I can't recommend upgrading to Windows 8.1 to anyone liking the desktop as it is because it will be changed with Windows 8.1.
Microsoft didn't get it, at all!
I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 and i don't have this problem on desktop but this problem of font rendering remains with IE11 although it's an awesome browser and in the mail app too.
I'm really mad because it's impossible Microsoft couldn't be aware of that major issue. This is the only reason i don't use IE, this blurry text ruins my experience, i come back on firefox where the font rendering is good. Don't get me wrong i don't use it not because i don't want but because MS made it unusable for me.
