Error “Windows\System32\Atibtmon.exe Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library”.

Original Title: just installed windows 8 pro

getting error   windows\system32\atibtmon.exe 

mircosoft visual c++ runtime library

How can I fix this? Any suggestions would be helpful.

    I am having the same issue.

    I think it is related to AMD Catalyst Software. Everytime I disconnect the AC power cord, it throws this C++ Runtime error.

    You can try the AMD diver autodetect tool: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx

    I am trying it right now (176 MB!) :-O

    I have exactly the same problem, same driver and same action (update the driver).

    Windows 10 Pro: I disabled in msconfig the "AMD external events" and the problem is solved.

    hola CCAAP de Experimentar El Mismo Problema Que Ustedes, me di Cuenta Que No Tienen Que des-Instalar los drivers De La Tarjeta de Video, El Problema aumento en la configuracion del Plan de Energía, Por ESO al Desconectar la Computadora de la Corriente de una aleta Energía de ahorrar la Alimentación de la Tarjeta de Video sí Reducir y ESTO ocasiona el error, párr resolverlo abran: 

    Panel de control \ Hardware y sonido \ options Energía \ editar la configuracion del plan de

    Dentro de heno Entren a "Configuración Avanzada Change to la de energía" y en el ultimo Apartado(Configuración de la Alimentación de los Gráficos ATI) déjenlo las dos optiones en Rendimiento Máximo y Listo, el error no XD Vuelve A Salir, deben de hacerlo en las tres configuraciones de energía para que sin importar cual usen con o sin alimentación no vuelva a salir y no tengan que desactivar ninguna característica en su computadora

    Diane, Following you can read what I do to resolve the problem (excuse for the quality of my english, I live in a french world :

    I think I found how  to correct the problem.

    1. On the AMD site, I downloaded the drivers for my Graphic card. At http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx , I used the 'Automatically detect and install' function to find the good drivers, downloaded and stored them on my PC;
    2. I uninstalled the old drivers;  See the 4 video (http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx) who show how to identify your Graphic card, download, uninstall and install new drivers;
    3. I uninstalled the old drivers;
    4. I installed the new version of the drivers;
    5. I restarted the computer;
    6. The message didn't not appear.

    Last thursday, I upgraded to Windows 8. I upgraded the drivers (Graphic card) but I didn't uninstall the old one before. I just installed the new version without uninstall the old.

    I'm not sure but I think that uninstall the old drivers before install the new one, correct the problem.
