Error “Windows\System32\Atibtmon.exe Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library”.

Original Title: just installed windows 8 pro

getting error   windows\system32\atibtmon.exe 

mircosoft visual c++ runtime library

How can I fix this? Any suggestions would be helpful.

    delete atibtmon.exe ....restart then no more popup about error...

    i found the program in system32, cut and pasted it to its own file folder in my documents.  no more annoying  pop up.  

    btw, how annoying is the moderator copy and paste goose chase for this thread?  not only did he get the origin of the program wrong, but failed to note that msconfig does not give those options in windows 8!

    i don't think atibtmon is a critical ati program.  in windows 10, windows installs the drivers and no update is possible.  unless you uninstall the windows-installed ati drver and reinstall from ati site.  then windows 10 will just install the bad driver again and two days later you will have the same problem.

    i didn't have time to explore fixing the ms runtime libraries, though you might be able to get a stand alone installer to reinstall the one it lists as the problem.

    easier to remove atibtmon..... keep it just in case it needs to be put back.
