Hi,

1.     Has the game ever worked earlier or it is the first time you are trying to play?

2.     Which operating system is installed on the computer?

Method 1:

You may try the steps from the following link and check if it works:

Flight Simulator X: “An error occurred while attempting to activate the product The problem may be due to an incomplete installation of the application”

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960481

Method 2:

Registry Disclaimer: ****Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. a. Click Start and type regedit in the search bar and pressenter.

b. Browse to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\CLASS{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} ****c. Find Upperfilters listed under it, and check its value, if its 0 change it to PartMgr and click OK out.

This solution worked perfectly for adding FSX Acceleration Pack. Make sure you have the exact hotkey and make sure you edit it "PartMgr" the exact spelling. mine was "partmgr" once I changed it. Sucess!

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and disabled all of the junk, such as Cortana and a lot of infantile games, etc.

Found that I could run Steam FSX, and X-Plane 11 but could not run Microsoft's FSX.

As above, changed the registry entry Upperfilters from - partmgr - to - PartMgr, closed the registry editor and immediately the FSX activation window opened.

Entered the product registration code and the on-line process activated FSX.

Microsoft needs to provide users with a - PERMANENT - means of activating - ALL - of their products, preferably - BEFORE - Armageddon !!!

As all of these FSX programs are old 32-bit programming it is now high time to move on to Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D v4.1 written in 64-bit. Check it out on YouTube.

As close to 'real' as it gets at only $199

PS FSX has improved with Windows 10 and is running at a frame rate of 40 fps.
