Hi,

1.     Has the game ever worked earlier or it is the first time you are trying to play?

2.     Which operating system is installed on the computer?

Method 1:

You may try the steps from the following link and check if it works:

Flight Simulator X: “An error occurred while attempting to activate the product The problem may be due to an incomplete installation of the application”

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960481

Method 2:

Registry Disclaimer: ****Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

a. Click Start and type regedit in the search bar and pressenter.

b. Browse to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\CLASS{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} ****c. Find Upperfilters listed under it, and check its value, if its 0 change it to PartMgr and click OK out.

This fix did the trick for me as well, even after all these years! Wanted to point out a little caveat that got me:

When I originally checked this registry value, it showed up as "partmgr" so I thought that I was out of luck, BUT the capitalization matters; so make sure it's exactly "PartMgr" or else it won't work. Others here have also pointed this out.

    Hi Ian,

Thank you for your poetry/advise, but I have grandchildren who like to fly on the PC.

I have offered 150$ years ago for the two CDs. So dam BG and his small balls.

    Hi Henning!

Got to agree with you there. ;-)

    Seriously, check this out:

I get the point about your grandchildren though, who are probably too young for P3D v4

Try this link for the correct FSX activation telephone number for your location:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/licensing/existing-customer/activation-centers.aspx

You should be able to get through to a technician who might be able to help you more.

    Hi again Ian

I saw prepar3D v.4 yesterday. Your right. Its awesome. The same goes for X-plane 11. Compared, FSX is for kids. Maybe I should give it a try.

I´m an old guy, but up to now in good shape. I have the local MIcrosoft phonenumber for support as a last chance, but they are no good. Just robots, no brain is my experince. To your information I live on a small spot called Denmark. I like flying. - Mainly in real time!

    Thanks for your help/support

    Henning
