After using this computer for 7 months (bought it new last November) and iTunes worked perfectly well until one day it stopped displaying the device option( the one that shows what iPhone or I pad..etc you got connected) and then you can sync the devices. but this went missing and iTunes could not re-download it.

I have contacted Apple support and gone through all options to remove and re-download iTunes.. but didn't' work. Each time, after downloading most of the programme - it stops to give the following message:

iTunes: Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Please help

I was having trouble reinstalling iTunes on a PC with Windows 7. These instructions worked perfectly. Just make sure you follow each step.

    Thank landElly!

Thank you! If the list of things doesn't work-keep trying & check to make sure you've done everything-eventually it worked for me. Do not click finish and "plug in your device" are what did it for me. Thanks again.

Yeah, this worked for me and my Windows 8, 64 bit laptop.  I tried many of the other "fixes" with not success, but this did the trick.  Thanks so much.
