Why is my Action Center tray icon missing?

My Action Center tray icon is missing for a while and even after I right click and click properties on the tray, I can't turn it back on since it's grayed out. I tried methods of editing the registry, but no luck.

First, I would advise you not to tinker with registry unless you are absolutely certain what you are doing.

To your problem....

It may or may not help you, but give it a try.

In the system tray, do you see a triangle pointing upward ?

If yes, click it... click Customize... scroll down to find Action Center.... click the pointer at the far right, and select Show icon and notification... click OK when done.

Go to Control Panel | Notification Area Icons. Click "Turn System

The Action Center is missing form the list.

Hi tkpc621,

Follow the steps here to perform aSFC Scan. This process repairs/replaces most corrupted/missing system files.

If you have not already, log in using a different user account to see of the Action Center option is available for that user account. If needed, follow the steps here to create a new user account. If the Action Center is available for the new user, follow the steps here to recover a corrupted user account.

Let us know if this helps.

I have ran the SFC scan and there was no problem and the results were good. I did create a new admin user account before, logged in, and there was also no Action Center tray icon either.
