To get the "required files" (Windows 8).....
- Run an elevated command prompt
- Click on the start menu
- Type CMD
- Right Click and choose "Run as Administrator"
- At the C:\Windows\System32> prompt type
reagentc /disable 2. Then at the C:\Windows\System32> prompt type reagentc /enable
and then press enter. Hopefully you will get the words "operation successful"
You can now successfully run RecoveryDrive.exe to make a Recovery USB.
If it still doesn't work, start researching reagentc /disable, reagentc /setosimage and reagentc /enable. This reagentc is the tool that will help you resolve the issue.
The steps I outlined above, worked in my case. This should work in Windows 7, 8 and 9
