Can't create recovery drive on this PC

Hello Guys

I Have this issue and after these steps the problem is solved::

Open command prompt in elevated mode and type:

reagentc /disable

reagentc /setreimage /path \?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE

reagentc /enable

Try to use Recovery Disk Creator again.

well whenever i try to do that it says "we can't create a recovery drive on this pc" and says some required files are missing......I have Win 10 and believe me it's awesome but some bugs need to be fixed like this!!! I cant connect to the internet with minecraft, steam or any other frickin app that requires wifi!!! I need wifi! plz some 1 respond to me as soon as possible cuz i need to uphold my youtube channel plz!!!!!!

The Recovery Drive that you wish to create is only a Startup Troubleshooting aid.  It is not a backup of the operating system.  It will allow the refreshing or resetting of Windows to the time of first installation.

Recovery options in Windows 10

You could use a Windows 10 .iso and boot from that to access some of the advanced startup repair options.

You could also just create the Recovery Drive on any other Windows 10, (or Windows 8.1) machine.  If you do that do not take the option of copying across any recovery partition (from another machine).

On a working Windows 8.1, or 10 machine, see  Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Recovery\Create a Recovery Drive.

Create a Recovery Drive and use that to boot from in a faulty machine and try accessing the advanced startup options/safe mode then.

Try contacting your OEM for the Windows 8 Recovery Media  (I doubt they would have Windows 10 version).  For a small charge they should be able to supply you with a copy on DVD or USB.  This will allow you to reinstall Windows 8 to factory settings as of day one.

The above would be the same procedure as if you had corrupted, lost, or replaced, a faulty hard drive, which often happens.

Have you checked with your OEM for Windows 10 drivers for your Network Adapter?  Can the manufacturer of the said Network Adapter help you with updated drivers?

What about Ethernet connections?  How reliable is a wired connection compared to any Wireless setup?

This is just an example of what you might be up against.  It shows that many Network Adapters require updates in order to function correctly in Windows 10.

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Communities. Follow these steps and check:

Step 1: Connect a USB drive to the computer and backup all data before proceeding to the next step as the drive will be erased during the process.

S tep 2: Switch to desktop mode. Press Windows + R keys to launch Run dialog. In the dialog type control.exe and then press enter key to launch the Control Panel.

Step 3: Click on change View by to Small Icons to view all tools and options. Click on Recovery to launch Recovery window.

Step 4: Next, click on Create a recovery drive option. Click Yes for the User Account Control prompt to launch Create a recovery drive wizard. If you are asked to enter the admin password, please do so.

Step 5: Click Next button, the wizard will scan the computer for all connected USB drives.

Step 6: In the following screen, select the USB drive that you wish to use as recovery drive and then click Next button, and finally click Create button. Windows will transfer required files onto the drive and the recovery drive should be ready.

Your instructions do not meet our question, which is when we tried to create a recovery USB drive we received a message that said "We can't create a recovery drive on this PC. Some required files are missing. To troubleshoot problems when your PC can't start, use your Windows installation disc or media." Therefore, we would like you to show us a way to solve this issue, BUT NOT HOW TO CREATE A RECOVERY DRIVE.
