Method 2: Check if audio devices are set to default.

a.      Press “Windows Key + C” to open a “Charms Bar”

b.      Go to settings and type control panel and select sound.

c.      Click the Playback tab. Notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is Speakers. Make sure that your audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

d.       On the Playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and make sure that the Default Format is set to the value that you expect. When you finish, close this window to return to the previous window.

e.      On the Playback tab, select the playback device, click Configure, and then make sure the configurations are set correctly.

f.      Select the sound device that you want as the default sound device, and then click Set Default.

g.      Click OK to save your settings and to close the Sound dialog box.

    Hi Try this.

It worked well for me and this was the issue as I saw it in my Event Viewer.

Method 1 worked great and right away!

Let me know if you get your sound.

    You should be able to.

Be careful downloading any drivers that aren't for your exact device manufacturer and for your computer etc. Otherwise more headaches!

    I'm just paying it forward.

    This was frustrating.

    Hello,

I found this fix and am passing it on after spending days and days on this issue.

I even tried the Dell driver (it didn't work)!

Best not download drivers that aren't the exact ones you need and be certain the driver is for your particular computer.

Method 1 Worked for me.  I was in this area and fiddle around but missed this

Try this before doing anything drastic such as restoring your computer (unless you're having multiple problems that is)

    Good luck and Good SOUND!

    Just paying it forward.
