How do I show folder size column in Windows 7 Explorer?

I have looked everywhere for adding the column to show folder size in Windows 7.  When a folder is deleted to the recycle bin, the folder size is shown in the "Size" column.  How do I mimic the recycle bin settings for all Windows Explorer viewing?

It's supposed to be a resource drag so it was removed,

There are some other third party utilities that are compatible with win-7 listed here,

If you use the Arrow key the popup description/ tool tip will appear automatically without the use of a mouse to hover.

Thanks for the attempt but I know that.  Balloon tips are one of the most irritating facets of computing.  The answer is a program that shows the size of folders.  Folder Size did it wonderfully in XP but in Win7 its kind of in the way as it floats a whole window over Windows Explorer with the information.  You only need this info occasionally.  The answer is to ditch Windows Explorer entirely and find something that works better.  Its called a File Manager and there are plenty out there.  You can't expect Microsoft to do everything well.  An OS is enough.

Why in the world would they want to hide this information?  Not even having it as an option means they don't want you to see it.  Why???

Give me the friggin checkbox to enable this feature!

Hardly a step backwards - Mac does not do what he is asking for. In fact, Finder behaves the exact same way, no folder sizes displayed in detail view.  My opinion is that finder is far short of where Windows is today.( El Capitan/ Win10 Comparison being made here). My annoyance on Mac includes the inability to grab several folders/files and get one size for them all in properties - on Windows you easily can. Try grabbing 30 folders on Mac, click "Get Info"? and the result is 30 windows popping up! lame.. Windows will sum them and tell you the combined size.

Even cooler is when working with media files (home videos for example) you can control-click just the files you want to include on an editing timeline - not the whole folder, or "select all" - and Windows will tell you the run time of the combined videos, plus the combined size. Far better information than Mac.... and explorer is far friendlier than finder. Glad Mac finally caught up to the "Merge" folders feature which was in Windows for years.
