App Store: "Your PC isn't connected to the Internet."

My App Store is not working right now. If I open the App Store, I get a message saying the following:

"Your PC isn't connected to the Internet. To use the Store, connect to the Internet and then try again."

Obviously, this isn't true, as I can browse the web perfectly normally with a web browser, and all other applications are able to access the internet. I have made sure my proxy settings are unchecked, so that should not be the issue. The odd thing is that the App Store was working fine about two weeks ago, but then it hit this message and it hasn't changed. Restarting the computer has no effect on the message.

Running the Music app (which I downloaded when the App Store was still working) has a similar error. When I open the Music app, and click the "Sign in" link, the following error code shows up:

"0xc00d11b2 (0x80072af9)"

I am running Windows 8 Enterprise, if that makes a difference.

Is there a solution to this issue?

Do the following steps:

Disable Proxy

If you are using proxy to connect internet please disable that, refer to the steps below to disable proxy:

Press “Windows Key” + “R”.
Type “inetcpl.cpl”.
Go to Connection.
Click on LAN Settings.
Check the box which says Automatically detect settings.
Uncheck the box under Proxy server.

If you are still facing issues with it, please follow the steps below:

Reset Windows Update Component.

This will reset and reregister Windows Update Components. This usually solves Windows update related problems.

Note: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

I worked with Microsoft support on this problem.

On my system we realized that the Windows Store App worked fine for other local accounts on my PC just not for my account.

While logged in as me the technician ran WSReset.exe (which clears out the Windows Store app cache) and as soon as that was done my Windows Store app started to work as it should.

Your mileage may vary, but it worked for me.

Don't ever consider Windows 10 it's the worst yet with NO real useful help available,

this whole Microsoft site is biased and does not allow users to vote that an answer from a so called technician is unhelpful .

Anyone still facing this issue should seriously check for the following things:

if you still run Windows 8.0 consider a free upgrade to Windows 8.1 as Windows 8.0 is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Once you are on Windows 8.1 you should consider to upgrade for free further to Windows 10 1607 (Anniversary Update)

The ISO file for the Upgrade or help is available here. So far this issue has not reprised on any of the Windows 10 versions.

Notice: Senselessly you cannot upgrade from Windows 8.0 to 10 directly, while an upgrade from 7 to 10 is possible. Make sure you have at least 30 GB free space on drive C for the Windows Upgrade backup / rollback.

I seriously do not recommend updating to Windows 10 if your machine has less than 2 GB RAM and you cannot upgrade to that amount, since Windows 10 1607 will not install with less than 2 GB RAM whatsoever. In this case you would need to install Windows 10 1511, and are certainly stuck on this older release as long Microsoft do not consider to change the unlucky requirement policy.

Get Windows 10 Update here:

Either use the media creation tool so you have a physical copy (ISO / USB Stick) or use the direct upgrade option. Once / if you are asked for the Windows 10 enter your Windows 8.0 or 8.1 key respectively to activate Windows 10.

While Microsoft officially said the free Upgrade period is over since July 2016, this seems only be valid for updates through the controversial GWX tool but stll works with standalone installations (ISO / USB).

This one was really helpful i just did method 1 and restarted my computer and the App Store opened up right away
