What does the error code c101b000 represent?

I was getting this error code as I was attempting to install an application from the Marketplace. The application will download perfectly, but when it tries to install the application, it would continuously give me this same error code. This occurred on multiple application installation attempts, so I know it is not a problem with one specific application that I am attempting to install. I am completely lost on what in the world this might be. I need help here.

Welcome in the wrong Microsoft club

If by club you mean this site, then this is actually the best 'club' to be in if you're looking for an answer.

If you mean Microsoft as a whole is the wrong club, then you're not helping anyone here that's looking for answers. After all, this site is called "answers".

Back ontopic. Am installing the second app update through my regular dataconnection right now, will keep you guys posted.

In case it makes any difference, before I did my last successful app update install I:

    • cancelled (not pause) all downloads that had been started (in other words: cleared the "downloads" screen)
    • disabled WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth etc., all except the basic data connection
    • rebooted the Phone (keep the power button pressed for a few seconds until it asks to slide down to turn it off, then do so and start it again)

all previously disabled services should still be disabled when it reboots

    • entered my sim password
    • went immediately to the store and started only 1 download
    • wait for it, takes much longer without WiFi
    • switched to this site a couple of times and loaded a few pages (that didn't interfere with a successful download)

    voila, it installed

i havent this error and i resolve  by mistake i think, im download and install skydrive and i give error c101.., but in this morning i conect my mobile to the pc (i have instal skydrive to pc) and i tried to downlod in my telefon skydrive (conected to pc) skydrive and i install... SURPRISE it works .

i dont know is procedure is correct but its work. if anybody treid this method post here to everybody  use..

ps: i download with WIFI connection

I received the same error message when installing multiple apps.  The app downloads but when it goes to install (at about the 51% mark in the status bar), it errors out and goes to the App list.  The app name is shown but under the name it says "attention required".  Clicking the app shows the app in Marketplace Downloads with "Attention required.  Tap here."  Clicking gives "<app name> There is a problem completing your request.  Try again later.  Error code: c101b000" with retry and close buttons.  Retry ends up giving the same behavior.  This occurred even after a shutdown and restart of the phone.

However...  After trying a few times, one of the apps did indeed install.  I still have another which is giving the error but I'll keep trying.

My PC/Laptop MS software does actively report problems for some things to MS as I checked the box to allow it.  However, my windows phone purchased less than a week ago didn't have an option for this and doesn't confirm that problems/error codes are being reported.  Even if this error reporting is actively happening it is simply data MS are collecting and may or may not review if they wish to at some point - they are not actively reviewing it at all.

What I am suggesting for Windows Phones would be a real-time fault reporting "active" system that when users alert MS to a problem via a fault code it allows whoever is on duty to realise there is a newly developing problem if they start to receive reports from a number of people.

Although this sounds like a good idea, I'm fairly sure that I already allowed Microsoft to let my Phone send info about problems to Microsoft...when I checked the appropriate checkbox during installation.

So if what I'm thinking right now is correct, and they already get informed, then clicking a link would only serve to ease the customer into thinking that they did what they could. I'm not saying that doesn't count for anything, I just suspect that this isn't necessary at all.

Can anybody confirm that it's possible during Phone installation to check a checkbox allowing the Phone to report problems?
