I would agree with the online backup. In fact, I am an affiliate of Carbonite. We'll cross that bridge later.
First, let's find out how much data you have that would need to be backed up. Let's start with your entire user account. Note this will not include your programs. If we are unable to repair the computer without reinstalling Windows your programs are gone. We
need to focus on your pics, documents or other personal data you may want/need to keep.
Boot from the disc again. Following the instructions on the link to create the disc navigate to the folder for your user account. Right click on the folder and choose "Properties". It may take a minute or so for the properties to complete the calculation of
the size of the folder. Once complete post back here and let us know the size. The size will determine how we proceed.
Finally, do you have a flash/thumb drive, and is the Windows 7 computer you are using now a laptop or desktop?
It's just alot of common sense and following instructions.
I could not have said it better. :-)
Great to hear I'm on track with using a online backup (carbonite)
instead of a Internal Drive.
What user account are you referring to. If it's (carbonite), have
not come onboard yet.
Yes I have a Flash/Thumb Drive
No, I'm not using Windows 7
Using Windows XP Home Edtion

The original Boot and CheckDisk was not from a CD.
I'm just finding out from a earlier response that the
CD should have been the primary to Boot, but it was
the secondary. Correct me if this is right. To make
the CD a primary, I would have to go into my BIOS
link from the setup and make the switch, save the
changes before exiting setup and then Boot from the
CD otherwise it will attempt to Boot directly from the
computer before going to the blue screen to start a
CheckDisk or exit within the time limit of about 10
seconds. This has been some journey and hope the
info posted will help and save others from running their
computers for 7 days with CheckDisk. I'm still hanging
here with you and will keep trying until this problem is
resolved. Will wait for followup instructions from you.
P.S: I noticed one of the many links in the setup:
PC Health Status (do you know what this is)
